The buffet has the third octave key, low Bb, left F etc. The Yamaha 411 is an older number for the current 441. Keywork is the same. It does not have the third octave key. Both oboes have been in to the shop and had any work that needed done to them done. All the cork is in good shape, and the pads are excellent, too. No cracks in either of these horns. Play very well. I bought the buffet for the third octave key. I am now in college and could use the oney for tuition more than two oboes... need to sell one or the other. I am willing to ship. If you know about oboes, you know this is a bargain price........pro oboes cost many $1000's brand new. NO PAYPAL, SORRY. (cf. paypalwarning.com, paypalsucks.com). No free trials, etc, too much risk of damage. I do NOT want to hear from any more ignorant mothers buying for their kids....those people should go to a store for the special treatment they seem to require. Wood is just beautiful, fine-grained from the time when the best wood was still plentiful. Left hand F F resonance low Bb low Bb resonance alternate C single ring perforated D the usual professional assortment of trills I'd guess some adjustments might be in order since it's been unused for a while, but I'm not certain of that. I brought it to my tech and he gave it a basic test and said it was still really tight and appeared in fine condition. May need adjusting from sitting unused, not sure of that though. But at this low price you'd have to be awfully picky to care. Cork pads on stack keys. c. early '70's.

I purchased it in 2005 when i went on an oboe scholarship to Sam Houston University, but alas, i changed my major and am currently on an a vocal scholarship instead. Go figure. ;) The fossati is pretty much new considering i didn't play it much, and haven't been playing. I'm willing to part with it only to someone who will give it a good home. It's a beautiful instrument with a darkish rich sound. I've only just finished swelling it, and would recommend slowly breaking it in, as i said earlier, its pretty much like new, i got off my oboe scholarship after mid 2006 and changed my major and haven't played a lot since then. I hate to part with it being as beautiful as it is, but it deserves a more passionate player who can show people what this instrument can really do. I'll miss it, but Hope you will fall in love with it like I did back when i was an aspiring oboeist.

Fox 450 and AK LOREE Loree, Serial number: PO72 of the AK series (please see the first three pictures) The brand Loree has been the most popular in America because of its rich, luscious and full tone. This oboe is from 2004 used until this year. After four months, it had one crack through the trill keys, which is very common. The crack was fixed by John Symer right away and has never returned nor has the oboe since had a problem. It is a professional, full conservatory oboe with all trill keys, banana key, low Bb, ring Eb, side F, third octave key and is made of Grenadilla wood. It has everything an oboist will ever need and it sounds beautiful! It has very recently been for a 'check up' with the wonderful repairman, Tim Burdick. Asking $5100 **AK bore: this bore is based on the AK-series oboes. This instrument has a slightly more conical bore than the Regular, rendering it narrower near the top and slightly wider at the bell. The resulting sound is focused and dark, with less of an "edge" to it. This bore is very popular, especially in North America. Fox Oboe Model 450 (please see the last two pictures, 4 and 5) This is a superb beginner or upgrade oboe. It's great for students because it maintains the high quality plastic resin top joint, which means no worries about cracks! The bottom joint and bell are grenadilla wood. It also includes the following: Metal lined tenon sockets and silver plated posts, bands, and bell ring, Stainless steel arbors and wire springs. Nickel silver keys with 18% nickel silver hinge tubing and heavy silver plating. Handmade full conservatory mechanism including split ring Eb- E trill key, F# key tab, and low Bb vent key. Cork pads on low C and above. Individually hand tuned to A-440 pitch at 72 degrees Fahrenheit, with maximum resonance and projection.
