I can get the serial number and everything if you are interested. The Fox 240 is a great bassoon for those who are serious about developing the talents. I got Stanley (that's his name, every good instrument deserves a good name) for my 16th birthday and I was determined to play him in college. I took excellent care of him and he is still in prime condition. The bassoon has traveled and played in a number of competitions including Tucson Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, IHSA State Orchestra and much more. I still have both the bocals, cleaning supplies and I can include reed making tools and music. This is a gentleman’s model with a longer bell than usual. Case is only 22" long, perfect for air-travel requirements. This bassoon is similar to the American model 150, except that the wing joint tone-holes are lined with ebonite instead of metal for a warmer tone. It is made from seasoned curly mountain maple wood from Bosnia, with a mahogany stain, and has a hand-applied French polish finish. Purchased 8 years ago, hardly played, like new. Tone holes and left thumb keys on the wing joint have been expertly adjusted by Christopher Millard (middle range E-flat and C-sharp pitches are particularly corrected). Recently inspected by Jesse Read who feels it’s in excellent condition and that the intonation, response and sound is very impressive for a bassoon in this class. I'm also looking for a recording, since I'm not that rich and can't afford to fly all the way to Never-Land to test a bassoon I may not buy. In any case, I'd prefer it used, at least broken in, and the two brands mentioned above. I will absolutely NOT take a Linton, Amati, Jupiter, or Schreiber.
